Bob Snyder
Imagineer

This website is about and for Bob Snyder and his group of imagineering associates.

Bob is an entrepreneur, a Business Technologist with his own company: Snyder Smart Systems. He helps businesses, individuals and organizations with their technology requirements. He builds, upgrades and occasionally repairs hardware; specifies and installs systems, software, hardware, networks, Internet solutions, and web sites. He then provides instruction on use and operation to his clients and provides continued support as required. He provides a turnkey operation for nearly any need.

Bob is a well-rounded individual. He has designed and installed electrical and electronic systems on ships and yachts, been a television studio engineer, designed and installed a complete broadcast television studio for a NASA satellite project, and been involved in computers since before the days of CP/M (pre-pre-IBM PC's).

His approach has always been geared to his client. The first step is a discussion and determination of what exactly are the goals or overall business requirements. This includes the introduction of system analysis as it is applied to their business and the introduction of new ideas or approaches that may fulfill their overall business goals, not just the current technology goals. There is more than technology involved with business applications and Bob's background in business, accounting, promotions, marketing, and presentations helps him look at the entire picture, not just a quick technofix. Although a technofix feels good, it may not be what is really needed. The magic is not in the box but in how one uses the box! Some clients are surprised when Bob suggests a different or better approach that has them going to someone else; but remember, the client always comes first.

The next step is to design the system or approach to attain these goals, and then to apply the plan, supplying the necessary components either from Bob or other vendors.

The final step is to instruct the client and personnel in the operation, maintenance and modification of the systems to meet their continued and changing requirements. The idea is to teach the client enough to no longer require his services for the daily operation of their systems. This may seem anti-productive from a business standpoint. (He might lose customers because they no longer need his support on a daily basis.) However, his clients always come back when they need something that is beyond their current capabilities. So in the long run, he has not lost a customer but gained a long-term client. He has found that most clients prefer to be able to support their own systems rather than to be married to a specific consultant; however, marriage is always available if that is the client's desired approach.
